Contents of Your Will
Wills can be complex legal documents, containing unecessary jargon & information that is not always easy to understand. At

our aim is to provide you with a document that cuts out all the uneccessary jargon & present you with a document that is clear, concise & easy to understand.
A Will should contain whatever is appropriate from the following list:
1. Opening statement that this is the last Will and Testament of Testator with the full name and address as at the date of the Will.
2. Statement that all previous Wills are revoked.
3. Appointment of Executor(s), Guardians and Trustees where applicable.
4. Trustee powers and recitals including payment of tax and testamentary expenses.
5. Details of gifts of specific items.
6. Details of pecuniary legacies (money gifts).
7. Details of devises of land.
8. Clauses dealing with the remainder (residue) of the estate.
9. Clauses dealing with alternative residuary beneficiaries.
10. The method of disposal of the body (burial, cremation etc.).
11. Testator’s usual signature.
12. An “attestation clause” stating the circumstances under which the Will was signed and witnessed.
13. The signature of two witnesses, at the foot of each page.
